Welcome New Treasurer

The Vermilion Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Suzanne Wilson as treasurer of the Vermilion Local School District.

Ms. Wilson comes to Vermilion from Wellington Schools, where she has served as treasurer since 2002. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and is a Registered School Business Fiscal Officer. Her career began in the State Auditor’s office, where she gained experience in both public and private accounting practices. In 1992 she accepted her first position as a school treasurer in the Chillicothe area. Her background also includes work as a business accountant and accounting instructor for Southeastern Business College.

While at Wellington, Ms Wilson was involved with construction projects through the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission, a skill that Vermilion will need in the coming year. “We are very fortunate that we were able to attract someone with Suzanne’s background and experience,” said Board President Dale Dawson. “The fact that she has experience with facility projects will be important as we transition to new leadership.” Ms. Wilson will be working a transition schedule of 20 hours per week through August 24, and will begin work full time on August 25, 2014.
