School Closing Instructions
Parent Comunication
Dear Parents and Guardians,

This has been a very challenging week for parents and school personnel alike.  With the recent identification of an individual in Lorain County who is infected with the virus, I have made the decision to minimize exposure to our staff and community by closing the district effective immediately.

Some elementary teachers are using websites where activities, instructions and guidelines are posted.  Links to these pages will be available from the school web page by Monday afternoon.

VERMILION HIGH SCHOOL

VHS teachers will share materials with students in an all-digital format, so there is no need to pick up materials.  Remote learning tools and resources will vary by teacher.  A full list of these tools and resources is available from a link that is on the VHS web page.  The list includes teacher names, contact information and office hours.  Find the link here:  http://www.vermilionschools.org/vermilionhighschool_home.aspx

BAND

Sailorway band students who need to pick up band instruments should call the SMS office at 440-204-1702 on Monday from 10:00 AM to Noon to make arrangements for pick up.

VHS band students who did not contact Mrs. Judd on Sunday should call the VHS office at 440-204-1701 on Monday from 10:00 AM to Noon to make arrangements for pick up.

LUNCH PROGRAMS

Students who are currently participating in the free or reduced lunch program are eligible to receive bags of food that can be picked up at the school one day per week.  Please let us know that you would like to participate by completing the breakfast-lunch request form at http://www.vermilionschools.org/Coronavirus2019COVID-19Updates.aspx

Thank you for your patience as we work through these challenges.  Our goal is to provide your child with the best education options possible throughout the closing period.  As always, we are available to answer your questions.  Please email your child’s teacher or principal if you need assistance.

Sincerely,

Philip M. Pempin, Superintendent
