"Big Idea" Box will help Improve schools

by Superintendent Phil Pempin

February 11, 2009

Just a reminder that the “Big Idea” boxes, like the one pictured here, are located in the main office of every school building, and in the administration office.  These boxes are an invitation to staff and community members to offer any and all suggestions for improving our school district.

The purpose of the “Big Idea” box is to allow for positive feedback and suggestions for improvement of our school district.

If you see an area you feel needs to be improved, please let us know how you feel we can make it better.  Many times the viewpoint of those not involved in day-to-day operations can help us review what we are doing, and make important changes that can dramatically improve the educational environment.  Our goal is to become a district of excellence, recognized by the State of Ohio.  However, our most important goal is to offer our students the best education we can give them, and help them to learn to be successful adults.

Several committees are working to "Reinvent" what we do.  Suggestions and comments submitted through the “Big Idea Box” will be reviewed on a regular basis and given serious consideration.  Those ideas that have the most promise for success will be passed on to the appropriate department for follow-up and implementation.

Forms are available at each school to use when making your suggestion.  If you would like to participate, but do not have access to a school building, please send an email to:   cakers@vermilionschools.org

Thank You!
