RON LESHINSKI - CLASS OF 1992

RON LESHINSKI - Ron Leshinski is a 1992 graduate of Vermilion High School. A three year varsity letter winner and co-captain in football and basketball, Ron once held eleven VHS football records. During his senior year, Ron was named the Cleveland Plain Dealer Defensive Player of the Year and was the recipient of the prestigious Lorain County Golden Helmet Award. Upon graduation from high school, Ron received an appointment t the United States Military Academy at West Point. A four year varsity letter winner and co-captain his senior year, Ron started 45 consecutive games at tight end. In 1996 he led the Army team to the most wins in academy history (10-1) and a birth in the Independence Bowl. Named Honorable Mention All-American and First Team All-East Tight End during his senior year, Ron was selected to play in the Hula Bowl and the Blue-Gray all-star games. Selected as the west Point Student-Athlete of the Year Ron was also presented the Commander in Chief's Award from President Clinton. Ron graduated with distinguished honors and a degree in Systems Engineering and a minor in Mechanical Engineering in 1997. Commissioned as an officer in Field Artillery, Ron simultaneously completed his military service obligation via active and reserve duty while making the active roster of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999.
