Join the Community Conversation: "Taking a Proactive Approach to Substance Abuse Issues"
The Vermilion Local Schools have been proactive in their approach to facing substance abuse issues. A decade ago the district began using a breathalyzer test for those attending the prom - it began as a solution to a problem and is now standard operating procedure. Today, the Vermilion School Board is discussing student drug testing.
How does a district move from concern to action? What can parents do? How can parents and community members encourage other districts to face the issues and take action? Join the Community Conversation.
SOLACE Lorain County is affiliated with Communities That Care of Lorain County, a Drug Free coalition working to prevent underage substance abuse.
SOLACE Lorain County continues to grow and serve family, friends and community members want to make a difference in the prescription drug/opiate epidemic. Help is available for individuals dealing with a family members' active addiction, or the loss of a loved one from substance abuse.
