Thanksgiving Message of Wellness
On the eve of Thanksgiving, the administrative staff, including the Board of Education and myself, want to express how grateful we are for the hard work, dedication, and commitment our staff and the greater Vermilion community have given to our children every day. We are again in the midst of an unprecedented school year with the ongoing pandemic. The challenges being faced are unique and stressful. Teachers, staff, and parents have had to be creative as we all strive to meet each student’s educational needs, while also addressing social and emotional wellbeing.

In remaining focused on the health and wellbeing of our school community, our team has decided to announce two additional non-school days this year for mental health. We hope these days will allow staff and families to have a much-needed break.

The non-school days will be Friday, December 10, 2021, and Monday, March 7, 2022.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone for the support you have given us this year.  Our ultimate goal is to care for our students and provide them with the best educational opportunities available.  We value your role in this effort and appreciate all that you do.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend,

Philip M. Pempin, Superintendent
