2026–2027 Bus Routes Now Available
Bus routes for the 2026–2027 school year. Families are encouraged to review their student’s route information before the first day of school to help ensure a smooth start to the year.

Please check your bus schedule for pickup and drop-off details, and review it carefully for any updates or changes. Routes may be adjusted as needed before or during the school year, so it’s a good idea to revisit the schedule periodically.

Congratulations to Brooke Whisenant of Vermilion High School, who was selected as the Erie County winner and named this year’s outstanding senior! Brooke attended an awards program and recognition luncheon in Columbus on Monday, April 13th.

2026-2027 Kindergarten Registration Information

Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open.

The state of Ohio has changed the law regarding kindergarten eligibility. Each year, the eligibility date will be the first day of kindergarten classes. For the 2026–2027 school year, students must be 5 years old on or before August 26, 2026, to be eligible for kindergarten.

Please complete the enrollment process by visiting the Vermilion Local Schools Enrollment & Registration webpage.

https://www.vermilionschools.org/EnrollmentRegistration.aspx

Kindergarten screening will be held at Vermilion Elementary School in August. Once your child’s enrollment is complete, parents or guardians will receive an email later this spring with information on how to sign up.

***Students currently enrolled in Little Anchors Preschool at Vermilion Elementary School do not need to register; your child will be automatically enrolled. You will receive an email in the spring to schedule a screening appointment and another in the summer to complete your child’s information update.

Text messaging - Opt-In information
The Vermilion Local School District is excited to announce the launch of a new service that will enhance communication by allowing us to deliver important, timely, and relevant information via SMS text messaging.  This service will not replace, but rather strengthen our existing means of communication and will be launched later this month.
