Congratulations to Jacob Webb, a Junior at Vermilion High School, who recently earned his Eagle Scout rank. We are very proud to celebrate your accomplishment!
Jacob has been involved in scouting for 10 years, and almost from the beginning, he worked toward achieving the Eagle rank, the highest rank attainable in BSA.
Jacob's project consisted of building and placing three park benches (2 adult and one child), and a customized fire ring in the Mill Hollow reservation. The benches were made from locust trees taken from the trails of Mill Hollow. The fire ring was made from three steel panels with cutouts of the Lorain County Metropark logo, Vermilion River Reservation logo, and eagles.
Jacob received funding assistance for his project from Vermilion Township Fire Department, Scouts from Troop 409, and staff of the Vermilion River Reservation. Family and friends assisted him with constructing the project in the park.
Future plans for Jacob include attending college to pursue a degree in History or English, but he also has an interest in ROTC. His goal is to one day work for a natural resources or outdoor service organization.
