Mrs. Meyer came to Vermilion High School as a science teacher in 1996, and continued teaching in that position until 2003 when she became Assistant Principal at VHS.
In 2005 she accepted the position of Principal of Vermilion Intermediate School, which was then grades 3 to 5. In 2010, when the district reorganized and closed South Street School, Mrs. Meyer was named Principal of the newly formed Vermilion Elementary School.
After earning her Bachelor's degree in Chemisty from Cleveland State University, Mrs. Meyer went on to earn a Master's Degree in Education from Ashland Unviersity. She currently holds educator licenses for Principal and Superintendent.
Throughout her years in Vermilion Mrs. Meyer has overseen many changes, including construction of a new elementary school and relocation of Vermilion Elementary to its current location on Douglas Street. In 2017 VES added a preschool program within the new building.
"We are very fortunate to have a wonderful staff at VES", said Mrs. Meyer. "We believe we have great things to offer our students, and do our best to make school a special place for them to come each day."
